EVALUATION (DRAFT)

As an evaluation for this project, I compare the ending of the project to the project proposal that I have set out from the beginning. “I am aiming to produce a series of textiles samples that will represent to views and perception that individual could have to here, London. As time management planning, I have made a plan for each day what I would like to archive. “Then I slightly changed the outcome plan,” I will make a new mind map and create a more clear picture of both colours and the work itself to gain what I want to present later on that we all should notice and beware of the vision of them (colours blindness people) and try to understand them how much they might suffer from this disability. But, I would like my work to look fun rather than serious traditional work because it might create converge to my audiences more accessible.”

Then, I have done some prints samples both digital and physical. In summary, what I end up making are a series of subject inspiration take from here in London.

I was decided a bit late what I want to show to the audience and what should I present it with. Then I have ideas after the talk to tutor that I should do something that using less time than the embroidery. So I decided to do print instead. Additionally to prints, the prints are from developing research into lino block as well as the digital print I use secondary research to inspire me.

In terms of what has been a major achievement, I did have a chance to try more embroidery in this project and also have some more collage skills as mine achievement.

First of all, in the proposal, I have a plan to do some mixed media and embroidery and string experiment as an outcome for the project.

But at the end of the project, it is a crucial time to finish the outcome. So I would say that as my plan for the outcome has changed I would say that this is come out like what I was intended to do.

In terms of discoveries that I have made in this project is more research skills and practical skills on restricted materials.

The artists and designer that I have looked at their work that helps in the formation of my ideas. The ideas that I have so far are mainly influenced by what I have seen and visited so far in this course. Additionally, what I have inspired from the oil painting panel of King Edward VI by how he wanted to present the paint by certain point of view on the side and if look at the paint from the front is a completely different mood, the Bridget Riley, Melissa Blanchflower and Gary Card works by the various colours combination that they used for their works, the photography works of Maureen Paley’s works and some works from the 62 textiles artists group (Caron Penney by his weaving works, Gavin fry by his embroidery works and Marilyn Rathbone).

What I have mainly learnt from this project, more skills in research, time management, planning what to do, and influences from galleries and museums visit how the professional artists present their work.

In this project, I didn’t do much on historical research but kind of more contemporary. So this is one of the points that I should do better in a further project.

The textiles techniques that I have use experiments in the project such as lino block printing, embroidery and colours sensitive to composition.

Mostly, everything goes well with the plan, just sometimes the work not strong enough to present the views or the time that I didn’t allow on the time to go back and fix some samples.

If I have allowed more time to samples towards the outcome they might be more quality and strong.

I did achieve what I want to do but nor the same as the plan in the proposal but is work on this print reconstructed combined with prints.

I want to improve my time management and research & mind map and brainstorm skills.

Additionally to the evaluation of the outcome, I choose to do deconstructing to what we normally see around us in London then present the vision of colours blindness ‘deuteranopia’ how they would perception colours differently from us.

In this series of work I have chosen the bus because I want to show how deuteranopia vision cannot perceive the red colour, the London eye is because it was the same colours when we look at it and Deuteranopia look at it, and the oyster card because underground is also a part of being here in London.
